Sands and the Door With No Key
A Reedy River Tale
Meet the mermaid
Queen of the sunken city, keeper of riddles and guardian of the golden map.

A Reedy River Tale
Beneath the desert sea lies a city of golden towers, and in it a door that had never been opened.
1Kings had pushed it. Sharks had bumped it. A very determined lobster had pinched it for a year.
2Queen Sands swam up and read the words carved above it: I open for the one who gives, not takes.
3So she took off her finest golden bracelet and set it gently on the step as a gift.
4The door swung wide. Inside was no treasure at all, only a room full of lost things waiting to go home.
5Sands has been returning them ever since. If you have lost something, she may be carrying it.
6Sands has many more stories in her basket.
