A Reedy River Tale
Meet the mermaid
Winter
The holiday mermaid of the snowy sea, with a gift tucked away for every guest.

- Generous
- Cozy
On the longest night of the year, snow fell on the sea and Winter set out with her sack of gifts.
1A scarf for the seahorse. Mittens for the crab, all eight of them. A bell for the youngest seal.
2At the very last cave she reached into her sack and found it empty. Not one present was left.
3Inside the cave sat a small grey fish who had never been given anything in his whole life.
4So Winter took off her own warm red hat and placed it on his head. It covered him entirely.
5He has lived in it ever since. Winter says the cold air on her ears was the best gift she ever got.
